About the Catalogue: Who Writes These Pricetags
Catalogue checked:
BestCasino Catalogue ZA is an editorial catalogue that treats online casinos the way a retail catalogue treats stock: every offer reduced to one comparable pricetag with three lines on it — what the price buys, whether the till works, who is behind the counter. We describe products for South African shoppers and we sell none of them; nothing on this site accepts a stake or holds anyone's balance.
Who is behind the desk?
Two people, and the split between them is deliberate: one puts entries on the shelf, the other takes them back off it. Thabo Molefe edits the catalogue. Naledi Khumalo runs corrections and operator claims — every objection, every re-check, every mark that changes after publication. Nobody re-scores their own work here, and every page carries the name of whoever last touched it.
What are the house rules?
Five rules govern every page. Scores come from one published model — three questions weighted 50/30/20, applied identically to all five casinos. Licence references are printed only where we can trace them. What a label lacks is printed beside what it has, including on the top pick. One visible date per page carries the freshness promise. And nothing invisible gets marked up.
The full model, including what earns a markdown, lives on the pricing page. The most-used practical page we maintain is the brand-check walkthrough, which teaches readers to trace a complaint back to the domain it belongs to rather than to the brand name in its headline. That habit — check the address, not the spelling — is the whole editorial philosophy in one line.
Two things are deliberately absent. There are no third-party rating averages anywhere on this site, because a figure built to somebody else's rules cannot be folded into ours. And there is no separate section anywhere arguing that the top entry deserves its place: the reasons for every position live in the same three questions asked of every brand, and if the marks change, so does the order.
Corrections are welcome and cheerfully applied. If a line on any pricetag no longer matches what an operator's own site says, send it in and it goes into the amendment log with a date. That includes operators objecting to their own entries — same route, same treatment.
